Bruning Meets With Youth Advisory Council Member Jordan Klimek Of Burwell

Attorney General Jon Bruning met with Burwell Public Schools student Jordan Klimek at the annual conference of the Attorney General's Youth Advisory Council (AGYAC). Jordan was among 91 juniors and seniors from across Nebraska who attended the conference Friday.

"These students care about Nebraska.  Getting them interested and excited about state government builds a solid foundation for future state leaders," said Bruning.

AGYAC involves Nebraska students in the processes of government and law. It also provides a forum for members to share views on issues by having an open dialogue with the Attorney General.

Members of AGYAC were welcomed to the Capitol by Bruning, followed by a full day of speakers and activities. They visited the Legislature and toured the Nebraska State Capitol and the Nebraska State Penitentiary. Gov. Dave Heineman, Nebraska Supreme Court Chief Justice Mike Heavican, Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood and State Sen. Ernie Chambers were guest speakers at the conference.

Jordan Klimek is the son of Bill and Stacy Klimek of Burwell and the grandson of Larry and the late Thelma Pfeiffer of Burwell and Bob and Wanda Klimek of Loup City.
